Beautiful Munnar

One of the most attractive places in the God's own country- Kerala. It is about 85 km from Kochi(Cochin) on Kochi-Madurai NH 49.The land ranges from 4500 to 8200 feet above MSL.The land of Munnar got its name from the three rivers( Muunu=three, Aar=river in malayalam) Nallathanni,Palaar and Kanniyar.Lord Rama and Sita Devi trekked these hills during their vanavasa. Sita Devi bathed in the serene lake of Devikulam and the lake is still called Sita lake. On the north east is Anamudi the highest peak in south India and on the east thesacred abode of Palani hills.

The view from these ranges is beyond words to describe, the lush green of the tea plantations in the blue ranges far beyond with glisting waterfalls and the lakes, wooded valleys, over-hanging precipes and the cool weather all takes you to dizzy heights of God's own world.
